School of Arts and Social Sciences (SASS) scholarship Fund
Tangaza University College (TUC) is constituent of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and offers market driven courses including certificate, undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programmes in its three schools. The School of Arts and Social Sciences is committed to improving and transforming the social and economic quality of life in Africa by producing skilled, ethical and solution oriented students. The school is dedicated to ensuring the students successfully achieve their educational goals and transition to the job market. In this regard, SASS has created a scholarship fund to give bursary to needy but bright students. The SASS scholarship seeks to mobilize local resources through TUC alumni, friends and partners. The scholarship fund will be managed under the leadership of the Dean of SASS.
Purpose:
The purpose of the scholarship fund is to provide qualified students from underprivileged backgrounds a chance to access quality and relevant university education, to enable them complete their studies and become successful agents of social change and transformation in their communities and the whole of Africa.
Beneficiaries
The scholarship is available for students pursuing their Diplomas or Bachelor of Arts degree in
the following institutes under SASS:
- Institute for Social Transformation (IST)
- Institute of Youth Studies (IYS)
- Institute for Social Communication (ISC)
- Centre for Leadership Management (CLM)
Students are invited to apply for the scholarship through their respective institutes using the prescribed forms.
Eligibility
1. Must meet the minimum requirements for admission into Diploma or Bachelor of Arts Programs at Tangaza University
2. Must show evidence of financial need
3. Must adhere to Tangaza University College ethos and students code of conduct
Selection Process
The scholarship committee ensures just and equitable allocation of the scholarship to the
deserving students. Shortlisted applicants are interviewed by the scholarship committee that
awards the scholarship. Every trimester, SASS seeks to provide partial or full scholarship to 20 deserving students with an amount ranging between 30,000 to 70,000 Ksh per student.
